Musicians dabbling in fashion isn’t new but as of late has become increasingly more popular. You never know what to expect when it comes to the topic of celebrity clothing lines, some turn out really great and go the long haul whereas others regrettably flop and are forgotten about as quickly as they were launched. The latest musicians to join the line-up of celebrity fashion designers are music royalty Beyoncé and Rihanna, both of which have unveiled sportswear inspired ready to wear collections.

Rihanna’s collection in collaboration with Puma was showcased during February New York fashion week. Unlike other musician celebrity collections in the past, the Fenty Puma by Rihanna collection had the Bajan singer’s style, swag and essence from head to toe. As PUMA’s global brand ambassador for women’s training when you look at the pieces in this collection you can tell that the singer not only co-signed but was undoubtedly very much involved in the creative process. Black and white cross over sports bras, zip through jumpsuits, longline black tank dresses and oversized faux fur hoodies were amongst the pieces showcased during the NYFW show.

Beyoncé’s new activewear brand IVY PARK co-founded with Sir Philip Green officially launched in Topshop stores last week, and I can only imagine the reception in which those clothes were met with. On sale were leotards, vests, joggers, hoodies and head bands all embroidered with the IVY PARK logo. From what I’ve read, some mixed reviews from customers but overall most shoppers were pleased with their IVY PARK so much so that the Topshop website crashed on the 14th of April … but I’m not surprised .. it is Queen B!

I give Beyoncé’s IVY PARK range a thumbs up!
